Sick!

I rarely get sick, or at least very sick. The last time I was sick enough to stay in bed was close to two years ago. And the longest I've been sick in bed is two days, at least as an adult. But this week I broke that record as I spent most of four days in bed from a very yucky flu. It was very bad timing since I have a large project at work that is due this Friday. So I worked from my bed in between naps, which is not an effective way to heal or work.

With Mom in bed, my house became very "sick" too. The photo above is just a sampling of how bad it got-- I'll spare you the full-disclosure because it would be too frightening.

My poor kids didn't fare much better-- I hardly had anything to feed them. Thankfully Symbria brought me food one night and my friend Melanie brought me groceries the next. She bought us fruit and Joseph held onto the strawberries like a starving person would and said, "Oooohhhh! Foooooooooddddd!!!" Poor kids.

Thankfully we survived. I'm still feeling a bit yucky, but I have energy again. I cleaned every room in my house except for Emeline's room (which will take a major overhaul). So I think we're pretty close to a full recovery!

Ya know, we had this run through our family too, twice, so I know how it is. It was really a nasty one!! Glad to hear you're back out on top!

I don't get sick very often either and then a couple days last year I had a bad flu and one of the days Brandon came home from work and said, "Huh! So this is what happens when you don't do anything all day." I didn't take a picture but it would have been similar to yours. Ahhh, the things we do for our families:)
